The majority of knowledgeable participants (n = 3645) felt excessive temperature as the change of climate (83.2 %). Among all the respondents (n = 6720), 94.5 % perceived change in climate and extreme weather events. Most of them (91.9 %) observed change in rainfall patterns in the last 10 years, and 97.8 % people think their health care expenditure increased after the extreme weather events. Age, educational qualification, monthly income, and occupation were significantly associated with the knowledge about climate change (p < 0.001). People with higher educational level or who live near a school were more knowledgeable about CC and its impact on health. Conclusions: The knowledge level about CC in our study group was average but the perception and awareness of CC related events and its impact on health was high. The most influential factor leading to understanding of CC and its impact on health was education. Intriguingly, net carbon uptake rates (24 h) were often higher (1.01–5.54 pg C [cell h]−1) than corresponding values of GPC—we discuss how such GPC measurements may reflect highly conserved biological characteristics for cultured cells linked to high metabolic dependency on photorespiration and heterotrophy. Three isolates from different genera (Cladocopium goreaui, Durusdinium trenchii, and Effrenium voratum) were additionally grown at 20°C and 30°C. Here, Ci uptake consistently decreased with temperature-driven declines in growth rate, suggesting environmental regulation outweighs phylogenetic organization of carbon assimilation capacity among Symbiodiniaceae. Together, these data demonstrate environmental regulation and ecological success among Symbiodiniaceae likely rests on plasticity of upstream photosynthetic processes (light harvesting, energy quenching, etc.) to overcome evolutionary-conserved limitations in Ci functioning.]]> Fri 29 Jul 2022 11:06:39 AEST ]]> Climate change and health in Bangladesh: a baseline cross-sectional survey https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:24778 Fri 22 Apr 2022 10:19:42 AEST ]]> "I don't think anybody really knows": constructing reflexive ignorance in climate change adaptation https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:37900 Fri 18 Jun 2021 11:07:03 AEST ]]> Vitamin-related phenotypic adaptation to exposomal factors: The folate-vitamin D-exposome triad https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:44510 Fri 14 Oct 2022 09:11:45 AEDT ]]> A systematic review of adaptations and effectiveness of scaled-up nutrition interventions https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:47364 Fri 13 Jan 2023 14:57:38 AEDT ]]> The relationship between coping strategies and psychological distress in Chinese older adults with multiple chronic conditions https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:49368 Fri 12 May 2023 12:49:06 AEST ]]> Adapting implementation strategies: a case study of how to support implementation of healthy canteen policies https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:35885 Fri 10 Jan 2020 12:43:42 AEDT ]]>
